Each month, a group of volunteers, with a variety of skills and talents, invites you to bring your items in need of a little work to the Repair Cafe:

Location: The meeting room in the Mission Library. The library staff have been enormously generous and helpful in offering us this permanent space to hold the Repair Cafes.

Dates: The third Saturday of each month, except December.

Times: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Cost: There is no charge but small donations are gratefully accepted.

Types of Repair available: This can vary slightly from month to month depending on the availability of volunteers but in general includes:

    • Small appliances – Lamps, coffee machines, vacuum cleaners, fans, etc.
    • Electronics – Laptops, tablets, phones.
    • Sewing.
    • Darning.
    • Knitting assistance.
    • Pottery repair.
    • Book-binding.
    • Bicycle repair.
    • Tool sharpening.
    • Guitar stringing.
    • Small jewellery repairs.
    • Plant advice.
  • Our volunteers are a creative bunch so will try to help with any problems you have.

Curious? Don’t have anything to repair right now but curious? Drop in for a visit – we’d love to see you!

Do you have skills to volunteer?  Are you good at fixing things?  Would you be willing to volunteer one Saturday a month to help out community members?  We are always looking for volunteers.  Send us an email to let us know what you can do.

Occasional Special Repair Cafes: Occasionally, we participate in other community events by holding a special Repair Cafe – e.g. at the annual Green Living Event on Earth Day.
